Who Wants To Ride? Gosling In Talks for Disney’s HAUNTED MANSION

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in Guillermo del Toro’s long-gestating Disney project, THE HAUNTED MANSION.  Gosling and GDT have been seen together several times lately – once at Disneyland, and also when Guillermo hosted a Q&A on Gosling’s recent directing effort, LOST RIVER, at SXSW.

HR also reports that D.V. DeVincentis is working on the latest draft of the film.  DeVincentis is billed as the screenwriter for HIGH FIDELITY and GROSS POINTE BLANK.

Interestingly enough, he is also listed as playing a “Vampire underling” in BLADE. Guillermo, of course, directed BLADE 2.

THE HAUNTED MANSION project goes way back to 2010, when Guillermo announced he would be writing and producing the film with frequent writing partner, Mathew Robbins.  This is the first peep we’ve heard of the project in quite some time.  As we know, Guillermo is quite fan of THE HAUNTED MANSION, and has collected memorabilia in his “Bleak House” for years.

Keep in mind, “in talks” does not mean that Gosling’s participation in the project is confirmed.  Stay tuned.
