The Orphanage Gets US Distribution

Picturehouse, undoubtedly encouraged by the box office performance of Pan’s Labyrinth, has picked up the distribution rights for The Orphanage, the spanish language film co-produced by Guillermo.

The Orphanage is directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, with a screenplay by Sergio G. Sanchez, who also wrote the script for 3993, which is to be directed by GDT.

The story is about a woman who buys an orphanage and hopes to convert it into a facility for disabled children. Soon, some invisible friends begin to manifest themselves through her young son. No release date yet, so stay tuned.
