David Hyde Pierce in Spamalot

I just wanted to give a quick plug for the fantastic musical Spamalot, which stars one of Abe Sapien’s alter egos, David Hyde Pierce. The show is based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

My wife and I drove to Chicago on Tuesday to see this show at the Shubert Theater, and it was just incredible. Absolutely hilarious with brilliant musical numbers. Anyone currently residing in the American Midwest should get tickets and spend a few days in the Windy City. It is definitely worth it.

Pierce is joined in the cast by Hank Azaria (of The Simpsons fame) and Tim Curry (do I need to even name the stuff that he’s been in?). The book is written by Eric Idle, and the show is directed by the legendary Mike Nichols (The Graduate).

Pierce plays the part of Sir Robin, as well as many other small parts. The show is playing in Chicago until January 23rd, and will eventually move to Broadway. For information, visit the musical’s website at http://www.montypythonsspamalot.com/.
