Carlos Zaragoza – Visual Storytelling PAN’S LABYRINTH Gallery

I was lucky to work with one of the most desired directors in Earth, Guillermo del Toro, in his fantastic fairy tale Pan’s Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno). I worked directly with the Production Designer, Eugenio Caballero. My responsibilities included Set Design, research, surveying locations, schedule Art Department’s crew work, and monitoring the construction of sets on location. I was in charge of the sets built in Aguas Vertientes and La Garganta, in San Rafael (Spain), including the Mill House, the Labyrinth, Ofelia’s Tree, the Train’s Attack. I also set designed parts of the Interior of the Mill: Vidal’s Office, Ofelia’s mother bedroom and bathroom, and walls ruins for the movie’s prologue Town in ruins.
That was a few years ago, and one of the reasons why I love making movies.
